clnt_call()

The clnt_call() call calls the remote procedure (procnum) associated with the client handle (clnt).

Parameters

clnt

Pointer to a client handle that was previously obtained using clntraw_create(), clnttcp_create(), or clntudp_create(). procnum

Remote procedure number. inproc

procnum

Pointer to the remote procedure's arguments. outproc

XDR procedure used to decode the remote procedure's results. out

Pointer to the remote procedure's results. tout

Time allowed for the server to respond, in units of 0.1 seconds.

Return Values

RPC_SUCCESS indicates success; otherwise, an error has occurred. The results of the remote procedure call are returned to out.
