z-order -
The order in which sibling windows
are presented. The topmost sibling window obscures any portion of the siblings
that it overlaps; the same effect occurs down through the order of lower
sibling windows.
zooming -
The
progressive scaling of an entire display image in order to give the visual
impression of movement of all or part of a display group toward or away
from an observer. (I) (A)
8.3 file-name format

A file-naming convention in which file names
are limited to eight characters before and three characters after a single
dot. Usually pronounced "eight-dot-three." See also non-8.3 file-name
