exception
- Any user, logic, or system error detected by
a function that does not itself deal with the error but passes the error
on to a handling routine (also called throwing the exception).
- In programming languages, an abnormal situation
that may arise during execution, that may cause a deviation from the normal
execution sequence, and for which facilities exist in a programming language
to define, raise, recognize, ignore, and handle it; for example, (ON-) condition
in PL/I, exception in ADA. (I).
