    virtual file system
      A remote file system that has been mounted so that it is accessible to the local user.
    vital product data (VPD)
      Information that uniquely defines system, hardware, software, and microcode elements of a processing system.
    vnode
      Virtual i-node. An object in a file system that represents a file. Unlike an i-node, there is no one-to-one correspondence between a vnode and the file system; multiple vnodes can refer to a single file. A vnode is used to communicate between the upper half of the file system and the file system representations.

      Vital product data.
