All calls to remote server APIs are subject to access privilege checking. A user must be logged onto the domain in order to access any remote LAN Server API functions, utilities, or other resources.

Users with administrator authority have maximum access to the functions provided by LAN Server APIs. Users without administrator authority must be granted permission to access shared resources by an administrator.
